📍 Location: Northampton (NN4)
💷 Pay: £50,000 – £55,000 per year
Are you a Manufacturing Engineer passionate about robotics, automation, and continuous improvement?
A well-established engineering manufacturer in Northampton is investing heavily in advanced manufacturing and is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer – Automation to help drive the next stage of their growth.
🔧 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠:
• Improving and supporting robotic welding cells & automated production systems
• Developing key manufacturing documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Instructions)
• Solving production issues using 5 Whys, DMAIC and structured problem solving
• Leading lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• Supporting introduction of new automation technologies & equipment
• Analysing production KPIs to improve efficiency and quality
• Supporting tooling, jig and fixture design
👀 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫:
• Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of automation/robotics (robotic welding experience highly desirable)
• Lean manufacturing & problem-solving skills
• CAD experience (AutoCAD / Creo)
• Exposure to PLC-controlled systems advantageous
