Are you an experienced CNC machinist ready to take the next step into a leadership role?
Weโre recruiting for a CNC Machine Shop Leader to join a leading heavy engineering specialist operating one of the UKโs largest precision machine shops. Youโll be working on high-value, bespoke components (up to 70 tonnes) supporting critical Defence and Offshore Energy projects.
๐ง ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐:
โ
Set up, edit programmes and operate heavy CNC Horizontal Borers, VTLs, and large Mills
โ
Work with Fanuc & Heidenhain controls
โ
Manage complex workholding setups on T-slot beds
โ
Interpret detailed engineering drawings and maintain tight tolerances
โ
Operate overhead gantry cranes for heavy lifting and rigging
โ
Lead and support a skilled shop-floor team

๐จ๐ซ:
โ Experience supervising or leading a CNC machine shop team (or a Senior Team Leader/Chargehand ready for progression)
โ Strong heavy machining background โ especially large CNC Horizontal Borers or VTLs
โ Confident with G-code editing, drawings, and geometrical tolerances
โ Strong understanding of safe lifting and rigging procedures
โ A calm, fair, and decisive leadership approach
